My involvement with this little student-run film festival began in 2008 when it was called ‘Salmagundi Film Festival.’ In 2009 I became the director of the film festival and would be for the next 2 years. I did all sorts of things, including changing the name a few times, but you can read about it in the Daily Progress in 2009 -> [here] & [here] for 2010 !
In 2009, Comedian Sarah Tiana hosted the events. The guests include: Lane Kneedler (AFI Programmer), Matthew Arden (Producer/Writer/Director for Turner Entertainment), Jeff Lowell (Writer of “John Tucker Must Die” and “Over Her Dead Body”, and Eric Hurt (Local writer/director)
In 2010, we recieved an early screening of Meghan Eckman’s “The Parking Lot Movie.” Guests on panel discussion: Dan Mirvish, co-founder of Slamdance Film Festival and Justin Bell, Director of Development for Academy Award-winning producer Edward Saxon.
In 2011, Richard Robinson screened his film accepted into Sundance, “The Beekeepers.”
